Samuel Givens, Jr. (ca. 1693-1740) was born in Antrim County, Ireland, the son of Samuel Givens (b. ca. 1667). He married Sarah Cathey in 1718 in Antrim County. They had ten children, 1719-1740. The family immigrated to Virginia, ca. 1722, and probably settled in Augusta County, Virginia. Samuel Givens died in Orange County, Virginia. Descendants of his son, John Givens (1719-1790), listed lived in Virginia, Ohio, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, and elsewhere.
