Andrew Jackson Shupe, born 8 November 1815, was the first of 15 children born to Peter Shupe and Sarah Wright. Peter was born December 3, 1792 in Grayson County, Virginia. He married Sarah Wright, daughter of William Wright and Susannah Ingram, Dec. 22, 1814 in Grayson County, Virginia. Peter's father was John Shoop. John was born Mar. 22, 1771 in Heidelberg township, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. He married Lucy Ferguson, Jan. 17, 1792 in Wythe County, Virginia. John's father was Johannes Schupp. Mary Elizabeth Creager, born Jan. 2, 1820, was the daughter of Michael Creager. Michael was born May 20, 1790 at Reed Creek, Wythe County, Virginia. Michael married Mary Polly Depriest, a daughter of Robert Depriest and Patsy Taylor, Sep. 8, 1812 in Wythe County, Virginia. Michael's father was Jacob Creager, born Aug. 6, 1771, most likely in Frederick County, Maryland. Jacob Creager married Barbara Lambert, Feb. 15, 1789 in Montgomery County, Virginia. Michael Crigger, born in Germany, was son of Hans Michael Krieger. Andrew and Elizabeth were parents of 13 children: Dorthula Catherine, John Whetstein, Rosanna Minerva, Brigham Kendrick, Mary Elizabeth, Louisa Marie, Andrew Jackson, Peter Riley, James Michael, Sarah Jane, Isaac, David Kendrick, and Emma Elizabeth.

Andrew Jackson Shupe died at the age of 61 in Ogden, Utah. Mary Elizabeth Creager Shupe died March 20, 1900 in Ogden, Utah at the age of 80.
