John Hoffman, born either 8 May or 1 March 1692 at Siegen, Nassau- Siegen, Germany. He settled in 1714 in the Germanna Colony on the south bend of the Rappahannock River, county of Essex, Virginia. He married Anna Catherine Hager, the daughter of his pastor, John henry Hager on 7 Nov. 1721.
