Carter Livesay, son of John Livesay and Rebecca Carter, was born 7 Nov 1787 at Franklin, Virginia. He married Elizabeth Wright on 19 Oct 1810 in Maury, Tennessee. They had 12 children. Elizabeth died 5 Apr 1833 in Washington, Illinois. Their descendants have lived in Tennessee, Illinois, Indiana, California, Michigan, and other areas of the United States.

Carter married Rachel Phillips on 3 May 1835 in St. Clair, Illinois. Rachel died 26 Mar 1836 in Washington, Illinois. They had one child.

Carter married Mabel Perkins on 20 Nov 1836 in Washington, Illinois. She died 23 June 1862 in Washington. They had 3 children. Carter died 26 Mar 1855 in Washington, Illinois.
