William Cazier was born 21 January 1794 in Prince William County, Virginia. His parents were James Cazier, Jr. (1773-1798) and Elizabeth Cahoe (1775-1820). He married Pleasant Drake (1796-1846), daughter of Thomas Drake and Lydia, in 1816. They had ten children. They moved to Oldham County, Kentucky in 1821 and to Illinois in 1841. He married Margaret Fillis Ewen, a widow and the daughter of Joseph Ellis and Elizabeth, in 1847 in Council Bluffs, Iowa. They moved to Utah and settled in Nephi in 1851. He married Sarah Clayton in 1856. William died 28 February 1872 in Nephi.
