Reuben Payne was a member of the Payne family that originally came from England and settled in North Carolina. He married Elizabeth Sweatman and they had three sons. Their son, Daniel, married Martha Frazier and they had thirteen children. Their son, Reuben, was born in 1805 in Sullivan County, Tennessee. He married Sarah and they had eight children. Descendants and relatives lived in Kentucky, Tennessee, Missouri and elsewhere. Includes copies of cemetery inscriptions for Payne relatives in several cemeteries in Monroe County, Kentucky and Milan, Missouri.

Includes Bacon, Chambers, Copass, Frazier, Greer, Norman and related families.
