What is in This Collection?
This collection contains an index to and images of civil registration records from Luxembourg for the years 1796-1941. The events are recorded by hand in French or German. Some records are in partially pre-printed books where the information is then entered by hand. The name of a child not registered when born will not be given in the death record, but the gender of that child will be. If the child was stillborn it will be stated on the record, although sometimes this term was applied to children who died shortly after birth.
Civil birth, marriage, and death records have been kept from 1796 to the present, although this collection only has records until 1924. Some records between 1796 and 1805 follow the French Republican Calendar.
Additional records and/or images may be added to this collection in the future.
