This collection includes records of militia servicemen from the United Kingdom for the years 1806-1915. The militia was created by the "Militia Act of 1757" and was a part-time voluntary force organized by county. These records are part of The National Archives record group War Office: WO 96, Militia Attestation Papers. The papers are arranged alphabetically under regiments, in order of seniority.
