This collection is the Navy Board, and Admiralty, Account General's Department: Registers of Allotments and Allotment Declarations, 1795-1852 (ADM 27) it was filmed at the National Archives of England. It contains pensions or registers of allotments of pay to wives and relatives of seamen 1795-1812; as well as a declaration lists of allotments, 1830-1852.

What is in This Collection?
This collection contains records from the National Archives' record series ADM 27 Navy Board, and Admiralty, Accountant General's Department: Registers of Allotments and Allotment Declarations. These include registers of allotments and allotment declarations from the years 1795-1852. It contains pensions or registers of pay allotments to wives and relatives of seamen from 1795-1812 as well as declaration lists of allotments from 1830-1852. The Navy Pay Act 1795 (An Act for establishing a more easy and expeditious Method for the punctual and frequent Payment of the Wages and Pay of certain Officers belonging to His Majesty's Navy) made it easier for officers and sailors to request pay in advance and for part of their wages to be used directly for the support of their mothers, wives, of families.
