What is in This Collection?
The 1925 census lists all members of household by name, including age, sex, race or color, marital status, state or country of birth, and relationship to head of household. Also listed: where from to Kansas (state or country), military record (condition of discharge, state of enlistment, letter or name of company or command, number of regiment or other organization to which attached, arm of the service, and name of military prison if confined in one), and citizenship (year of immigration to the U.S. and year of naturalization if naturalized).
Indexes on microfilm exists only for the city of Topeka and Soldier township in Shawnee county. The microfilm is held by Kansas State Historical Society, and it can circulate through interlibrary loan through many libraries in the state. Indexes in printed form document a selection of Kansas cities.
One set of microfilm exists of the Kansas State Census of 1925. The microfilm circulates via interlibrary loan to participating libraries in the state of Kansas. Certified researchers may arrange to view the original documents held by KSHS.
