Ireland, Medical Directory for Ireland, 1858

The 1858 Medical Directory for Ireland detailed locations and publications of pharmacists and doctors in Ireland. The Medical Act of 1858 attempted to regulate the medical profession and rid unlicensed practitioners. The 1858 Medical Directory was published as stricter regulations were implemented through the General Medical Council. An 1859 Medical Register was published in conjunction with the Act.
