Hawaii, Register of Voters, 1887-1888
Register of voters for the Hawaiian Islands from the Hawaii State Archives. This register is a "list of persons who took the oath to support the Constitution and laws, and registered and voted at the General Election of September 12th, 1887 and (on the Island of Oahu) Special Election of August 22nd, 1888." The record is arranged by island, district, ward or precinct, then alphabetically by name of the voter. Includes information on age, place of birth, occupation, local residence, registration date, entitled to vote for nobles (ownership of property required), remarks. Includes the supplemental register of voters for nobles in wards of the district of Honolulu). The microfilm of the original records is located at the Archives of Hawaii in Honolulu.
