What is in This Collection?
This collection contains registers from the three colleges in Belfast, Cork, and Galway which were part of Queen's University of Ireland. The University was founded under the Queen's Colleges (Ireland) Act 1845 (An Act to enable Her Majesty to endow new Colleges for the Advancement of Learning in Ireland) as a way to encourage Catholics and Presbyterians access to education outside of the predominantly Anglican Trinity College, Dublin.
