This collection contains records of proceedings held at the Courts of Chancery and Exchequer in Dublin for plaintiffs and defendants and deposited at the National Archives of Ireland. The Court of Chancery was an equity court based in Dublin, Ireland, presided over by the Lord Chancellor of Ireland. The court until the 1877 court reform.
Equity and chancery courts exist to provide remedies where the usual court system is not sufficiently flexible to provide a fair resolution.[1] The Court of Exchequer was a Irish court of common law.[2] Additional records and/or images may be added to this collection in the future.
