Ukraine, Soviet Population Filtration Records, 1943-1991

During and after WWII, the Soviet government created a filtration process to repatriate Soviet citizens who had been deported to Nazi forced labor camps or had lived under Nazi occupation. The files contain biographical information, family relations, oral testimonies, affidavits, pictures, and other documentation. The collection currently includes files from the Poltava, Kyiv, Khmelnytskyi, and Kropyvnytsky regional archives. This is an ongoing project that will continue to add files from other archives.
