Birth, baptism, marriage, death, and burial records are taken from metrical books kept by the churches in the Kazan province (modern Republic of Tatarstan) of Russia. These records were acquired from the State Archives of Tatarstan Republic, Russia. The modern territory of Tatarstan Republic was part of Kazan province during the Russian Empire when most of these records were created.

This collection contains index & images of church records of baptism, marriage, and death from Russian Orthodox churches in Kazan province, now the Republic of Tatarstan. The Kazan Guberniya existed from 1708 to 1920[1] when it was replaced by the Tatar Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic.[2]
