Aba Nigeria Family History Centre is located in the grounds of the Aba Temple Complex, and we currently serve Aba-Nigeria Stake and visitors to the Aba Nigeria Temple.

Family History Workshop

Nigeria Independence Day      

The Aba Family History Center will be closed for the celebration of Nigeria's independence day on the 1 of October, all center operations will resume from the next day (3rd of October)

Class Schedule

  • This is currently arranged on a per need basis and will be made more constant as the need arises.

Staff Training Meetings

Holds every last Saturday of of the Month

  • Time: 12pm
  • Venue: Aba Family History Center

Temple Shut Down

The Aba Temple will be shut for routine maintenace from 7th March - 21th March 2016, during this period the center activity will still continue but will be much reduced.

Centre Resources


  • FamilySearch Catalog: This centre has the ability to order any of the films and fiche available through the FamilySearch Catalog.
  • (List additional collections you have such as the types of books and microfilm you have on indefinite loan; though you will not want to list every single item you have. Just give visitors to this page a general idea of your resources.)

Databases and Software

  • FHC Portal This centre has access to the Family History Center Portal page which gives free access in the centre to premium family history software and websites that generally charge for subscriptions. (Note to FHC: Not all FHCs have access to this portal. If you do not, you will want to remove this entire bullet. If you do have access to it, just remove this text in italics.)

Hardware and Equipment

  • Two windows 7 Desk top computers
  • One HP LaserJet Printer
  • Access to South African microfilm store
  • Image scanners (pending)

  • Family search Account or LDS Account
  • Understanding of Family History Work
  • An enthusiasm for learning and trying new things
