Whether you are just beginning your family tree research or need additional resources, the Atmore Alabama Family History Center is available to serve community members free of charge. The Center is open to the public and all are welcome!

  • Wed 7:00pm-8:00pm
    • To make an appointment for other times, please contact the director at 1 334-368-5130.
    • We are subject to close unexpectedly in the event of inclement weather or illness. Please call for information about unexpected changes to our normal operation hours.

Center Resources


  • FamilySearch Catalog: This center has the ability to order any of the films and fiche available through the FamilySearch Catalog.

Databases and Software

  • FHC Portal This center has access to the Family History Center Portal page which gives free access in the center to premium family history software and websites that generally charge for subscriptions.

Hardware and Equipment

  • This center has several computers and a printer available to use as well as a microfilm reader.

  • Escambia County, Alabama courthouse lies just a few miles to the west on US Highway 31 in Brewton, Alabama.
  • Local family historian, proficient in indexing offers instruction and tutorials in his home every Thursday evening at 6:30. Please call for more information. 678-577-9895
