FamilySearch This article describes the services and resources available at a Family History Center, a branch facility of the Family History Library.

The Blackfoot Idaho Family History Center is located in Blackfoot Idaho and serves patrons from throughout the the area.  All are welcome to use center resources in their family history efforts.

Closed for all major holidays including 24 July: The Center will be closed from December 15th through January 1st:

Leadership Training - Each Thursday 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM

Leadership Training is designed for priesthood, auxiliary organization leaders, YM/YW Class presidencies.

(These sessions are held on a continuous rotation designed to meet various individual levels of need. Times of each topic is listed so that only those portions of training that are needed may be attended.)

                                        Center Resources


  • FamilySearch Catalog: This center has the ability to order any of the films and fiche available through the FamilySearch Catalog.
  • The library hosts a small collection of books, microfilm, and microfiche. 

Databases and Software

  • FHC Portal This center has access to the Family History Center Portal page which gives free access in the center to premium family history software and websites that generally charge for subscriptions.
  • There is a local database of obituaries from in and near Blackfoot from 1983.

Hardware and Equipment

  • 20 Computer stations are available for patron use.
