FamilySearch This article describes the services and resources available at a Family History Center, a branch facility of the Family History Library.

The Brainerd Family History Center is a branch library of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Family History Library, a nonprofit, volunteer-driven organization. Patrons may access FamilySearch services and resources free online at and at the Brainerd FHC. The center has free access to the many Premium Websites available through the Family History Portal at the Family History Center. Many local records are also available.

Center Resources- 3 computers with free Premium Websites, 2 Microfilm readers, 2 microfiche readers, Digital camera, Many microfilms and fiche collections, local county and  family records, book collection.


  • FamilySearch Catalog: This center has the ability to order any of the films and fiche available through the FamilySearch Catalog.

Databases and Software

  • FHC Portal This center has access to the Family History Center Portal page which gives free access in the center to premium family history software and websites that generally charge for subscriptions.
