  • Thursdays: 6:00pm-9:00pm

Closed Holidays or when the weather closes the Omaha/Council Bluffs school systems.

Collections

  • FamilySearch Catalog: This center has the ability to order any of the films and fiche available through the FamilySearch Catalog.
  • Patrons' Microfiche Collection -- a collection of fiche ordered by our patrons, assorted titles. Contain family histories, vital records, and other types of information.
  • Indefinite Film Collection -- a collection of films on a variety of subjects, to include vital records, county records, court records, etc.
  • Book Collection: --
  • Bert Eugene McKeeman Navy Mothers Club 282 of Council Bluffs Iowa: Seven (7) record books belonging to this Club were left with the Center because nobody wanted them and only 2 members of the club were left. The first record book has a beautifully hand-tooled cover. These books begin in 1942 and go until a little after 2000.

Databases and Software

  • FHC Portal This center has access to the Family History Center Portal page which gives free access in the center to premium family history software and websites that generally charge for subscriptions.

Hardware and Equipment

  • 4 computers with wide screens
  • 2 multi-tasking printers (prints, copies, scans to computer, etc.)
  • 1 digital imaging system (reads microfilm and microfiche)

Volunteer at the Center

Volunteers are needed for all shifts! It's a great way to help others and to learn by doing. You need not be an expert. Ability to use a computer and willingness to become familiar with the FamilySearch website and resources are key.
