Downall Green or Garswood End
Downall Green or Garswood End Holy Trinity became a chapelry with a chapel built by the year 1838, in the then chapelry of Ashton-in-Makerfield which itself was created a parish by act of Parliament in 1845.
Also nearby in Haydock stood a district chapel which was created in 1866. See Ashton-in-Makerfield St Thomas for further information about the churches serving within the parish boundaries.
Birth, marriages and deaths were kept by the government, from July 1837 to the present day. The civil registration article tells more about these records. There are several Internet sites with name lists or indexes. A popular site is FreeBMD.
