EAST-VILLE, a township, in the union of Spilsby, E. division of the soke of Bolingbroke, parts of Lindsey, county of Lincoln. The township, with six others, was made such by act of parliament in 1812, on the occasion of a very extensive drainage of fen lands, and is not dependent on any parish.
Eastville St Paul (sometimes St Luke) is an Ecclesiastical parish formed in 1840 from East Fen and which included New Leake. The mission church of New Leake St Jude was built in 1897 within this parish.
Eastville was an extra parochial part of East Fen which was drained between 1802 and 1813. It was constituted as a township in 1812 and formed a civil parish in 1866 [Historical Gazetteer & Directory of Lincolnshire p 778] The church is a grade II listed building with an unconventional North-South alignment. The church was built prior to the 1840 dedication.
This parish was within the Stickney sub-district of Spilsby registration district.
Birth, marriages and deaths were kept by the government, from July 1837 to the present day. The civil registration article tells more about these records. There are several Internet sites with name lists or indexes. A popular site is FreeBMD.
