Parish History

FINSBURY, aborough, a division, and a sub-district, in Middlesex. The borough is an integral part of the metropolis; lies between the Tower Hamlets and Marylebone.[1]

One of the oldest of the smaller district churches within the borough and civil parish of St Luke Old Street Finsbury, St Paul's Bunhill Row was established in the year 1839. It lays within the boundaries of St Luke Old Street.

Additionally, there was another St Paul, called St Paul Peartree which was likewise a district church built to ease the population increases in the borough of St Luke's, established and in operation by the year 1865.
