This collection consists of civil registration (stato civile) of births, marriages, and deaths within the custody of the State Archive of Caltanissetta.

Availability of records is largely dependent on time period and locality. Records for this collection include the years 1820 to 1935.
These records are written in Italian.
Whenever possible, FamilySearch makes images available for all users. However, rights to view images on our website are granted by the record custodians. Italian Data Privacy rules prohibit making certain records publicly available for viewing. This includes birth records under 110 years old, and marriage or death records under 70 years old. As you are searching it is helpful to know such information as your ancestor's given name and surname, some identifying information such as residence, age, and family relationships. Remember that there may be more than one person in the records with the same name as your ancestor and that your ancestor may have used nicknames or different names at different times.

Marriage records may contain the following information:
- Name of groom and bride
- Date of marriage
- Place of marriage
- Birth place
- Place of residence
Death records may contain the following information:
- Name of deceased
- Date and place of death
- Birth place
- Place of residence
How Do I Search the Collection?
Search by Name by visiting the Collection Page:
Fill in the requested information in the boxes on the initial search page. This search will return a list of possible matches. Compare the information about the individuals in the list to what you already know about your ancestors to determine if this is the correct family or person. You may need to look at the information on several individuals comparing the information about them to your ancestors to make this determination.
