The small border village Llandrinio, near Llanymynech, was part of the historic county of Montgomeryshire in Wales and is now in the county of Powys. It lies close to the River Severn and Offa's Dyke.

The war memorial stands next to the Lych Gate of the parish church of St Trinio, St Peter & St Paul.
