Mostyn is a village, community and ecclesiastical parish in Flintshire, Wales.

Before 1974 the village was in the historic county of Flintshire and, between 1974 and 1996 in the County of Clwyd. In 1996 it became part of the modern county of Flintshire.

History

"MOSTYN, a village and a chapelry in Whitford parish, Flint. The village stands on the coast of the Dee's estuary, and on the Chester and Holyhead railway, 3¼ miles NW by N of Holywell; has a station on the railway, and a post office,‡ of the name of Mostyn Quay, under Holywell, and a good inn; and gives the title of Baron to the family of Mostyn. The chapelry was constituted in 1844. Real property, £10,783; of which £7,161 are in mines. Pop., 1,640. Houses, 343." [Imperial Gazetteer of England and Wales, 1870-72, John Marius Wilson]
