Oakdale Minnesota Family History Center

The Oakdale Family History Center is located in the Oakdale Stake Center, which is adjacent to the St Paul Minnesota Temple. We service a wide area of Eastern Minnesota and Western Wisconsin. Beside St Paul, Minnesota, our patrons come from Woodbury, Oakdale, White Bear Lake, Cottage Grove, Maplewood. Hastings and other communities in Eastern Minnesota, others of our patrons come from Hudson, River Falls, Prescott, St Croix Falls, Ellsworth and other communities in Eastern Wisconsin.

Collections

  • FamilySearch Catalog: This center has the ability to order any of the films and fiche available through the FamilySearch Catalog.
  • Patrons' Microfiche Collection -- a collection of fiche ordered by our patrons, assorted titles. Contain family histories, vital records, and other types of information.
  • Indefinite Film Collection -- a collection of films on a variety of subjects, to include vital records, county records, court records, etc.
  • Book Collection: --
  • Many of our patrons have Scandanavian Ancestry, so we have a large selection of microfiche and research aids for Norway, Sweden, and other Scandinavian countiries.
  • Additionally, we also have a significant number of patrons who are of Germanic ancestry. A goodly number of research aids for research in Germany and the former areas of the German Empire are also available.

Databases and Software

  • FHC Portal This center has access to the Family History Center Portal page which gives free access in the center to premium family history software and websites that generally charge for subscriptions.

Hardware and Equipment

  • 4 Northwest 2020 Microfilm Readers, 6 Personal Computers with Internet access, 1 Canon 300 II Microfilm Scanner with printer, 1 Lexmark X 466e Laser Jet Printer, 1 Lexmark E460dw Laser Jet Printer
  • Wireless Access for Laptops, Notebooks, etc is available for patron use
