Open Hours:

  • Tuesday: 1:30pm-8:30pm
  • Wednesday: 6:00pm-8:00pm
  • Saturday: 9:00am-12:00pm

Note: The FHC is run entirely by volunteers, so please call before coming down during scheduled times to confirm the presence of a volunteer. Generally, the phone is not answered outside of official hours.

Please use the northern entrance.

Sunday, August 7, 2016: Genealogical Society of Broward County will present a webinar, "The Genealogy Do-Over: A Year of Learning from Mistakes" by Thomas MacEntee. It will be held at the Alvin Sherman Library, 2nd Floor, Nova Southeastern University. For times, directions and other details, go to the GSBC website.

  • FamilySearch Catalog: This center has the ability to order any of the films and fiche available through the FamilySearch Catalog.
  • Hundreds of microfilms on a wide variety of locations, subjects and resources.
  • Several dozen books on a variety of genealogical topics.
  • Dozens of genealogical magazines, including the National Genealogical Society Quarterly, the NGS Magazine, American Ancestors and NEHGS Register (both from the New England Historical and Genealogical Society) and the Official Journal of the Northern New York American-Canadian Genealogical Society.
  • Handouts to help beginners.
