Parish History

ROPSLEY (St. Peter), a parish, in the union of Grantham, wapentake of Winnibriggs and Threo, parts of Kesteven, county of Lincoln, 5¾ miles (E. by S.) from Grantham with the hamlet of Little Humby.[1]

Ropsley St Peter is an Ancient Parish which includes Little Humby within its boundary.

The Saxon church was largely replaced by the Norman church and can be dated to about 1380 although rebuilding in subsequent centuries has taken place.

Ropsley village is about 5 miles east of Grantham, Lincolnshire and the modern benefice is part of the North Beltisloe Group.
