Soda Springs Idaho Family History Center

The Soda Springs, Idaho Family History Center is located on the west side of town overlooking Alexander Reservoir. The entrance is on the northwest side of the building. Across the parking lot are historical markers describing the Morrisite and Camp Connor sites. The center is near the historic Oregon Trail.

The center will be closed for all national holidays.
The center will be closed the week of Thanksgiving.
Calendar and Events
Family History Center Open House: November 19th from 9:00am to 1:00pm. COME CELEBRATE PROJECT ZION WITH US!
Keynote Speaker: President Harris at 9:00. Display and refreshments will be in the gym provided by the wards. The family history center will be open to help you with your family history.
Classes will be taught by Elder Van Celaya from Salt Lake City. 9:30 Class- FamilySearch how to speed things up! 10:30 Class- Google, how to Be a Search Engine Samurai! 11:30 Class- Partner Sites, how to find hidden treasures.
Family History Center Thursday Night Classes:
Indexing Night: November 17, 2016 at 7:00pm. Come and learn how to index or do a batch together. We always have food on indexing night!
Basic Family Tree Part 1: December 1,2016 at 7:00pm. Come and learn the basics of FamilySearch and how to navigate your tree.
Basic Family Tree Part 2: Decmeber 8, 2016 at 7:00pm. Learn how to connect sources to your ancestors and how to start researching.
Indexing Night: December 15, 2016 at 7:00pm. Give of yourself this Holiday Season and serve those who have gone before you, by indexing a batch.

Classes are scheduled for small groups as needed. Contact the center to setup a special class.
Staff Training Meetings
- FamilySearch Catalog: This center has the ability to order any of the films and fiche available through the FamilySearch Catalog.
- Obituary newspaper clippings for Caribou County. These are filed alphabetically in notebooks.
- Funeral Programs for Caribou County are kept in binders alphabetized.
Databases and Software
Resources at the Center
The center has several computer terminals, printers and scanners. In addition the center has a microfiche and microfilm reader and a microfilm copy machine.
