What is in the Collection?
This collection will include digital images of pension classification records for the widows and orphans of Spanish officials from 1826 to 1960. Included in many of these files are wills and birth, marriage, and death certificates. Original records are housed at the Archivo General de la Administración in Alcalá de Henares, Spain.
These records are handwritten in Spanish; see the section "For Help Reading these Records" for access to translation helps.

- Name of petitioner
- Name of widows
- Names of children/orphans

How Do I Search the Collection?
Name are listed in alphabetical order in the "Browse through images" section that is listed on the initial collection page. Select the name or date of your ancestor if they appear on the list of names, and you should see images of those records.
Searching the Collection

Search the collection by image, comparing the information with what you already know about your ancestors to determine if the image relates to them. You may need to look at several images and compare the information about the individuals listed in those images to your ancestors to make this determination.
When searching, it is helpful to know such information as your ancestor's given name and surname, some identifying information such as residence, age, and family relationships. Remember that there may be more than one person in the records with the same name as your ancestor and that your ancestor may have used nicknames or different names at different times.
