Family Associations, Family Organizations, and Family Societies exist throughout the world, but finding them is problematic. This collection of links to the websites, Facebook pages, and if needed a mailing address, will help you find the organizations that can be helpful in your family history research. Feel free to add an organization or update any that are already listed.

The alphabetical links above will take you to the websites or Facebook pages that are known to exist. Guild of One-Name Studies Currently 8,754 surnames are part of the Guild which is based in London, England and with members around the world.
Irish Surname Registry A central location to look for others doing research on the same Irish surname.
United Kingdom Surname Groups on Facebook This group maintains a directory of family surname groups on Facebook that originate from the United Kingdom.
Directory of Family Associations Bentley, Elizabeth Petty, and Deborah Ann Carl. 4d ed. Baltimore, MD: Genealogical Publishing Co., Inc., 2001. This publication includes all known “U.S. associations, reunions, surname exchanges, significant databases on single surnames, or related groups, independent periodicals, and some publishers of family histories, including some groups that, while foreign-based, deal with U.S. families.”
Genealogy Sites on Facebook The Social Media Genealogy list by Katherine R. Willson is currently a 302-page PDF file that contains over 10,600 links to Facebook groups and pages related to genealogy. Visit Katherine's website or her Facebook page for more details and to view or download the list.
Facebook for Canadian Genealogy Gail Dever has compiled a list of close to 800 English- and French-language Facebook groups and pages related to Canadian Genealogy on her blog Genealogy á la Carte. The list is being updated frequently and can be downloaded from her blog.
