Parish History

SUTTON (St. Mary), a parish, in the union of Chesterfield, hundred of Scarsdale, N. division of the county of Derby, 4 miles (E. S. E.) from Chesterfield; containing, with the merged parish of Duckmanton. Duckmanton church, now demolished, was dedicated to St. Peter and St. Paul. [1]
