SWINDON (Holy Rood), a market-town and parish,in the union of Highworth and Swindon, hundred ofKingsbridge, Swindon and N. divisions of Wilts, 41miles (N.) from Salisbury, and 81 (W.) from London. There are places ofworship for Independents and Wesleyans.
