Every link on every Jewish Research Page is now messed up

Whatever good you thought you might have been doing by editing links on all the Jewish Research pages did not work out well. Every link now is part of a sentence that ends with "by clicking [URL] her." Links are definitely not feminine :-)

First of all, the "clicking here." link was adequate because every browser reveals the target URL when the mouse is over it.

Second, showing all the lengthy URLs has a very cluttering effect on the page, making it less understandable.

Third, if some Wiki policy has been created to show all the URLs, then those URL need to be modified with some degree of respect for the context. With what you are doing, the entire sentence needs to be reworded.

Lastly, if you don't fix these pages, I think my best option is to just undo all your changes. When and if I get whatever policy you are following, I can go back and intelligently modify the pages to be compliant. This global search and replace business can never do it right.

Per meeting with Fritz and Heidi, Poland Jewish Research is broader than Poland Jewish Records. We are planning to make this uniform across all countries in preparation for the Jewish Conference in July. Please provide any comments on a change like this as soon as you can. Thanks. Sonja, The "Index of the repressed" link on this page seems to have stopped working. I also tried googling it and found links elsewhere are also broken. Do you have any idea whether is it still up and running elsewhere? Kurt Matthia 21:42, 17 March 2014 (UTC)
