Both British History Online and other sites contain copyright text. In GENIUKI pages it is necessary to transcribe directories and gazetteer material, therefore any plagiarised text should either be transcribed from the source or removed. Vision of Britain gazetteer entries you questioned begin with the preface "In ---- {name of gazetteer} described {place name} like this:" The website clearly displays the copyright on the home page ©2009 University of Portsmouth and others FamilySearch would do well to advise contributors that gazetteer entries are copyright material and should not be added to parish histories; there seems to be a widespread addition of copyright material for this county and elsewhere. In addition errors in the Surrey Census template have resulted in broken links entering some parish pages, contributors need to test such links Ginnel 15:42, 31 August 2011 (UTC)  Throughout the county "Parish history" contains copyright British History Online text. Removal of links to Sussex Census is being undertaken for a limited number of parishes, each of which need parish history completion with non-copyright material.Hostelry 09:07, 1 February 2012 (UTC)
