FamilySearch This article describes the services and resources available at a Family History Center, a branch facility of the Family History Library.

(This regional Family History Center serves primarily Smith, Anderson, and Henderson Counties in Texas and is located in the heart of the Rose City--Tyler, Texas. Other area FHCs include locations in Longview, Gilmer, and Wills Point, Texas.)

  • Free 16th Annual Family History Fair will be on Saturday, March 12th, 2016 from 9am-4pm. The theme of the Fair is "Telling Family Stories through Multimedia, Oral & Written Stories, and Heirlooms". Flyers are at: tylerfamilyhistoryfair@wordpress.com.   • FamilySearch Catalog: This center has the ability to order any of the films and fiche available through the FamilySearch Catalog.
  • (List additional collections you have such as the types of books and microfilm you have on indefinite loan; though you will not want to list every single item you have. Just give visitors to this page a general idea of your resources.)

Databases and Software

  • FHC Portal This center has access to the Family History Center Portal page which gives free access in the center to premium family history software and websites that generally charge for subscriptions. 

Hardware and Equipment

  • We have 2 computers that are used for research and working on your Family file. All of these computers have Internet access. We also have one computer that is hooked up to a scanner to make copies from microfilm and fiche. This computer has the ability to print your copies, save them to a flash drive or burn to a CD.
