What is in the Collection?

This collection will include birth, baptism, marriage, death, and burial records from 1810-1928, taken from metrical books of the churches of the Ekatorinoslav province. At one time the current territory of the Donetsk region was part of the Ekatorinoslav province.

Image Visibility

Whenever possible, FamilySearch makes images available for all users. However, ultimate rights to view images on our website are granted by the record custodians. The Ukraine, Donetsk Church Books collection is available to the Family History Library, FamilySearch Centers, and to members of the supporting organization. Images can be viewed at a FamilySearch Center near you.

Collection Content

Baptismal records may contain the following information:

  • Name of child
  • Name of parents
  • Date of birth
  • Child’s gender
  • Date of baptism

Marriage records may contain the following information:

  • Name and age of bride and groom
  • Names of bride’s parents
  • Names of groom’s parents
  • Date of marriage

Death records may contain the following information:

  • Name and age of deceased
  • Names of parents or spouse
  • Date of death
  • Gender of deceased

How Do I Search the Collection?

You can browse through images in this collection by visiting the browse page for Ukraine, Donetsk Church Books, 1809-1928.
