Hello, My name is Alissa Ann Gage Hill. I have been interested and researching my genealogy for over 20 years. I was born and raised in Northeastern Oklahoma, living most all my life in Muskogee, Oklahoma. I am an official "Okie from Muskogee" and proud of it. I am also a member of the Cherokee Nation from my maternal side of my family and I can trace my ancestry, with only a few brick walls here and there, to Ostenaco, the great Cherokee orator, warrior and leader who in May 1762, went to London to meet King George the III with my "other" grandfather Lt. Henry Timberlake.
I have been a member of the Muskogee County Genealogy Society, Muskogee, Oklahoma, for many years and currently hold the position of President of the Board.
I have two wonderful daughters that are attending Universities in Oklahoma (fingers crossed they stay there) and when I am not researching my ancestors, I LOVE to cook BBQ and travel all over the country to BBQ competitions. Need a caterer for your next event? E-mail me, would love to come cook for you, so I can visit the closest library.
My favorite quote:
No man knows himself unless he knows his ancestors; No nation knows itself unless it knows it's past.
