I am a professional researcher and writer in London, England specializing in military history and military genealogy of members of Britain's Army, Royal Navy and Royal Air Force. In addition I undertake a wide range of researches into the records at the UK National Archives, where I worked for over thirty years.
In addition I have written hundreds of articles and over two dozen books on all aspects of British genealogy. Recent titles have been guides to researching British soldiers and sailors and men and women who served in WW1 for Pen & Sword and Digging Deeper (The History Press, 2012) a guide for genealogists who have gone beyond the basics.
I worked at The National Archives on and off between 1979 and 2011. I also edited two genealogical magazines: Family History Monthly and Ancestors. I also have extensive experience in lecturing and tutoring and regularly give sessions at London's Society of Genealogists and at family history societies in the UK and overseas. In March 2012 I was keynote speaker at the Ontario GS's spring conference on World War I. I am also a tutor for Pharos Tutors.
Qualifications: MA in Archive Administration. In the process of joining the Association of Genealogists and Researchers in Archives (AGRA).
