Los Angeles Family History Library
The Los Angeles Family History Library has a 47 year history. It is located behind the Los Angeles Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
The Library was closed for renovation starting in 2009, reopening October 25, 2010. We now have 75 computers for internet searches for family information along with two new training rooms for classes on research.
We still have books, microfilm and fiche. Many of them have been digitized and indexed and are now accessed through internet links. We have Library licenses for several paid subsription sites for patron use. These include Ancestry.com, Heritage Quest, Find My Past, Fold3 (formerly known as Footnote.com), and others.
The Library offers a wide range of classes on family history topics. Select "Classes & Class Schedules" on the library menu for a brief description of each class and class schedules.
Help is available to get you started in the right direction in your search for your ancestors.
Use the Library Menu above to get specific information for your research needs.
