The Wellcome Library is founded on the collection formed by Sir Henry Wellcome (1853–1936), whose personal wealth allowed him to create one of the most ambitious collections of the 20th century.[1]

See their digital collections of books, manuscripts, and numerous digitized images from several other archival repositories holding specifically mental healthcare (800k pages of psychiatric) Wellcome Library patient records (historical records) for online access, i.e. Ticehurst House Hospital, Gartnavel Hospital (Glasgow), Crichton Royal Hospital (Dumfries), Holloway Sanitorium (Surrey), Priory Hospital (London)], and, Army Medical Services Museum collections of diaries, memoirs, photos, etc.
