FamilySearch This article describes the services and resources available at a Family History Centre, a branch facility of the Family History Library.


We have 2 computers, with full access to Ancestry.com, FindMyPast.co.uk and many other fee paying websites. We also have one microfiche and one micfrofilm machine. The centre is manned by volunteers who will help you as much as they can, use of the centre is completely free

Open Hours: Tuesdays 9:30 - 2:30; 6:30 - 9pm. For other times, to make an appointment or any enquiries, please email us at either of the above addresses

The building is currently undergoing roof repairs and is closed during the day. We are still open most Tuesday evenings but please email us before travelling to make sure!

Collections

  • FamilySearch Catalog: This center has the ability to order any of the films and fiche available through the FamilySearch Catalog.

Databases and Software

  • FHC Portal This center has access to the Family History Centre Portal page which gives free access in the center to premium family history software and websites that generally charge for subscriptions.

Hardware and Equipment

  • 2 computers
  • 1 printer/scanner which gives you the option to scan photos, documents etc directly into your FamilyTree at familysearch.org
  • 1 microfilm reader
  • 1 microfiche reader
