Chapelry History

Coldhurst Holy Trinity was created a district chapel (chapelry) in 1848, lying within Prestwich parish.

"COLDHURST, a chapelry in Oldham township, and in Prestwich parish, Lancashire; in the north-eastern neighbourhood of Manchester. It created in 1844."[1]

Coldhurst, an ecclesiastical...district[chapelry], in the parish of Prestwich-cum-Oldham, union of Oldham, hundred of Salford, S. division of the county of Lancaster, 7 miles northereast by north of Manchester. The district was created in October, 1844,...and the erection of a church was commenced in the summer of 1847."[2]
