1) Davidson County was established in 1822 from Rowan County. Courthouse fire in 1866 may have destroyed some records. County seat: Lexington. 2) Now in Tennessee was created in 1783. Nashville (now the capital of Tennessee) became the county seat. This was a part of the territory ceded by North Carolina in 1789 to the federal government.
