Finding my ancestor using the wiki

The Wiki can be a useful tool in locating our ancestors. Although it is not a place where you will find a specific name, going through a process of searching and following links can lead researchers to the needed information.

To use the Wiki in searching for an ancestor, you will need to know:

  • What you are trying to find, such as:
  • Vital records
  • Where they lived
  • How they got to that locality
  • The name of the ancestor.  Remember that there may be more than one spelling.
  • A good idea of their locality
  • A time period
