  • From I-65: Take U.S. Hwy. 72 exit (Athens, AL). Travel West on U.S. Hwy. 72 for approximately 45 miles. This will bring you into Florence. Travel Hwy. 72/43 into Downtown Florence (becomes Tennessee Street). Turn North (right) onto Wood Avenue.
  • From the West: Travel East on U.S. Hwy. 72. This will bring you to U.S. Hwys. 72 & 43 in Muscle Shoals. Travel North on Hwys. 72 & 43 into Florence. Travel Hwy. 72/43 into Downtown Florence (becomes Court Street). Turn East (right) onto Tennessee Street. Turn North (left) onto Wood Avenue.

Books, films, photographs, manuscripts, recordings, database subscriptions to Ancestry Plus, and HeritageQuest, records of several New England, Southern, and Midwestern states, emphasizing Lauderdale and northwest Alabama, as well as the surrounding counties of Northeast Mississippi and Southern-Middle Tennessee, county and local histories of Lauderdale, Colbert, and Franklin counties, Probate Court records 1820–1927 of Lauderdale County, local newspapers 1824-present, and cemetery surveys.


  • The parking lot is located on the back side of the library facing Walnut Street.
