Known Issues

Question #1: Records that were previously viewed in this collection may not currently be available on-line. Where can these missing records be found?
Answer #1: Since all of the records were extracted from microfilms, any missing records can be located by searching the Library Catalog and viewing the relevant films at a FamilySearch Center. It may also be possible to view the records online by searching the International Genealogical Index (IGI) at our previous web site. When searching the IGI, enter the available information except for the batch number. (Entering the batch number will result in a search at our new website rather than the original IGI.)

Question #2: Indexed entries that include “Indexing Project (Batch) Number: B03683-7” also include the wrong film number (#185158). What is the correct film number?
Answer #2: Film #185139.

Question #3: When searching in the collection for family, I came across the wrong death place showing for my ancestor, and quite a few others in the same collection. How can I search when the death place is wrong?
Answer #3: When searching for Kottsweiler-Schwanden, try instead the death location of Beidendorf.
