FamilySearch This article describes the services and resources available at a Family History Center, a branch facility of the Family History Library.

The Gloucester Virginia Family History Center is a wonderful resource to members of the Gloucester and surrounding communities.  We are a film center which means that we not only offer access to books, computers and online resources, but also to ordering and viewing microfilm and microfiche from the worlds largest collection of records.'

  • Tuesdays:   10am-12pm
  • Wednesdays:   6pm- 8pm

Calendar and Events

Upcoming Events: Microfiche Sorting Party - Tuesday, July 10th at 10AM, at the center.  Come help us organize our collection of microfiche, upon completion of this project we'll have a large library of microfiche availabe for patrons to use in the center.

Class Schedule

  • Tuesday nights, Sept. 18th - Oct. 9th, Genealogy Class 6:30 - 8:00 p.m. (Instruction followed by workshop)  Contact us to register as space is limited.

  • FHC Portal This center has access to the Family History Center Portal page which gives free access in the center to premium family history software and websites that generally charge for subscriptions.
